Step-by-step instructions

  1. 1

Lie on your right side with your right hand flat on the floor, fingers spread.

  2. 2

Bend your right knee and place it on the floor behind you for support.

  3. 3

Press through your right hand to lift your hips, forming a straight line from your head to your left foot.

  4. 4

Keep your core tight and your hips lifted.

  5. 5

Hold for the prescribed time, then switch sides.

Notes

This is a great starting point before progressing to the full side plank. Focus on keeping your hips lifted and your body in a straight line from head to top foot.
