Full Push Up [Fists]

A full push-up performed on closed fists rather than flat palms. This variation reduces wrist extension stress and adds a slight increase in range of motion.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 1

Start in a high plank position with your hands in fists on the floor, knuckles down, positioned slightly wider than shoulder-width.

  2. 2

Keep your body in a straight line from head to heels with your core tight.

  3. 3

Lower your chest toward the floor, keeping your elbows at roughly 45 degrees from your body.

  4. 4

Press back up to the starting position.

  5. 5

    Repeat.

Notes

Make sure your fists are stable and your wrists are straight — do not let the wrists bend. This variation is especially helpful for those with wrist discomfort during flat-palm push-ups.
