Step-by-step instructions

  1. 1

Start in a forearm plank position with your elbows under your shoulders and your body in a straight line.

  2. 2

Keep your core tight and your hips level.

  3. 3

Slowly lift your right leg a few inches off the floor by squeezing your right glute.

  4. 4

Hold briefly, then lower your right foot back to the floor.

  5. 5

Repeat on the left side, alternating legs for the prescribed reps or time.

Notes

The key is to keep your hips level as you lift each leg — do not let them rotate or tilt. The movement should be small and controlled, driven by the glute.
